Our chef is taking a slightly different path in an open kitchen that’s as extensively equipped as any professional setting, yet concertedly like home – offering dishes that recall domestic cooking at its finest and an atmosphere that’s wholly relaxed.
The Brecon is more than a hotel — it's a private Alpine retreat that feels like home.
Everything's included. From food and drinks to those little indulgences that make a stay unforgettable.
Great food is central to the experience, with an à la carte breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner — all included in your room rate — crafted with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. The open kitchen is the heart of the house, where dishes are prepared with care and creativity.
Drinks flow freely — think signature cocktails, fine wines, and fresh juices, available whenever you please. Each room includes a well-stocked complimentary minibar and a curated selection of Aesop products for a touch of everyday indulgence.
Beyond the house, curated experiences immerse you in the best of the Alps, from snowshoeing and ice climbing to tranquil hikes and stargazing. Every detail is designed to help you escape, unwind, and feel right at home — effortlessly.
Designed by Amsterdam-based studio Nicemakers, our 18 rooms and four spacious suites are a seamless blend of comfort and character. Natural materials — timber, stone, leather, and wool — set a warm, earthy tone, while artisan-crafted features and midcentury furniture add depth and individuality. Every detail, from the tactile finishes to the breathtaking mountain views, invites you to settle in and stay awhile.

ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN
Design in the service of hospitality
Built in 1914, the venue now home to The Brecon (the upper building of Adelboden’s Hotel Huldi) was known previously as the Waldhaus. Throughout the 1950s and ‘60s, it was bustling, glamorous, and talked about – a place where high-profilers and aspirants gathered to be seen.
