Local Events
Adelboden has its own rhythm through the year. Some moments are rooted in old traditions, others bring movement, food, markets or winter energy into the village.
These are not everyday experiences, but dates to plan around: the kind of moments that bring Adelboden together for a day, a weekend, or a season. Some are small and local, others fill the whole village. All offer a glimpse of the place at its most alive.
Wildstrubel by UTMB — 12 September 2026
Once a year, Adelboden becomes the start and finish point for one of the Alps' great trail running adventures. The Wild 55 takes runners straight from the village, beyond the famous Chuenisbärgli ski run, across the Adelboden-Lenk-Kandersteg destination, and over some of the region's most breathtaking mountain panoramas.
55 kilometres, around 3,300 metres of elevation gain — it's not just the clock that counts, but the experience along the way.
A day full of energy, with Adelboden running at the rhythm of sport — thrilling to be part of, whether you're racing yourself or cheering from the trailside.

Adelboden-Märit — 2 October 2026
The traditional autumn market along the Dorfstrasse, with regional food, craft, market stalls and a lively village atmosphere. A good moment to see Adelboden as the season turns quieter, but the village gathers again.

World Cup Weekend at Chuenisbärgli — 9 and 10 January 2027
Every January, Adelboden becomes something else entirely. The quiet rhythm of the village gives way to race-day energy, full stands, ringing cowbells and the unmistakable sense that the ski world has arrived.
The FIS Ski World Cup is Adelboden’s most important event — a proud, historic fixture that brings the world’s best skiers to the legendary Chuenisbärgli. It is fast, technical and full of atmosphere: a weekend of sharp turns, big moments and alpine tradition at its most alive.
From The Brecon, it all feels close: the village, the mountain, the tradition, the anticipation. The intensity of the race sits alongside the calmer pace of Adelboden in winter — a contrast that gives the World Cup its particular character here.
And when the World Cup has moved on, the mountain remains. The famous Chuenisbärgli slope opens again for everyday skiing, offering the rare chance to experience the same run that challenged the champions. A little slower, perhaps — but no less memorable.

Adelboden Live — 19 and 20 March 2027
A boutique music festival that transforms Adelboden for a weekend into a soundscape set against an alpine backdrop. Multiple stages, spread between the ski area and the village, bring together established names and rising talent – accompanied by a food-truck mile and lively après-ski atmosphere in the village centre.
Short distances, high quality, a mix of music, cuisine and winter magic: that's what Adelboden Live is all about.
Line-up to be announced.

Vogellisi Berglauf — 11 July 2027
A summer race up to Sillerenbühl
Each July, the Vogellisi Berglauf brings a different kind of energy to Adelboden. Runners and walkers start in the village and make their way up towards Sillerenbühl — through valley paths, mountain terrain and views that grow wider with every metre climbed.
The classic mountain run covers 12.6 kilometres and 860 metres of elevation, with relay, Nordic walking and children’s races also part of the day. It is challenging, local and full of mountain spirit — less about speed alone, and more about the shared feeling of moving upward together.
For guests who run, walk or simply enjoy the atmosphere of a summer race day, it is a good moment to see Adelboden in motion.

Culinary Hike — June 2027
Each June, Adelboden starts the summer season with a walk made for appetite and curiosity. The Culinary Hike leads from the foot of the Engstligen Falls towards the Lohner village, with around two hours of gentle walking and eight culinary stops along the way. Details follow soon.
Local guides and hosts share small insights into the valley’s culinary world, while some of the region’s best kitchens serve an eight-course experience with wine pairing — from aperitif to dessert. The Brecon is one of the participating hosts, alongside selected restaurants and producers from Adelboden and the surrounding area.
It is a sociable, seasonal day: part walk, part tasting, part glimpse into how Adelboden eats and gathers. Groups start between 11am and 2pm, with the preferred slot chosen when booking. Places are limited, so we are happy to help with the details and reservation.
