Adelboden
It’s hard to exaggerate the appeal of Adelboden’s setting. Lying 1,350 metres above sea level in the heart of central Switzerland’s Bernese Oberland, it’s a classically picturesque, tranquil village of gingerbread-house timber chalets surrounded by pine forests and Alpine meadows, and framed by the grandeur of the Adelboden Mountains. Swiss traditions and seasonal rhythms count for much here. Although Adelboden is a hub for outdoor adventurers year-round, it’s quieter than better-known destinations nearby, with the feel of an undiscovered haven.
