Scenic drives to and from The Brecon
Perfectly placed in the heart of the Bernese Oberland, The Brecon is an ideal starting point for some of Switzerland’s most memorable driving routes. From Adelboden, the road quickly opens into a landscape of alpine passes, deep valleys, glassy lakes and sweeping mountain views — the kind of scenery that turns a drive into a day-long experience.
In 2025, Singer chose The Brecon as the home base for its World Tour Switzerland, bringing guests and their restored Porsche 911s to Adelboden for a curated alpine driving programme. The routes included the Furka, Grimsel and Susten passes, with days beginning and ending at The Brecon — breakfast before departure, dramatic roads through the Swiss Alps, and a relaxed return to the hotel for spa time, apéro and dinner. It showed exactly why The Brecon belongs on the tour map: close enough to iconic roads, yet calm and considered enough to feel like a retreat at the end of the drive.
Our favourite scenic drives from The Brecon include the Susten and Grimsel passes, a relaxed route around Lake Thun, and the beautiful Jaunpass. Further ideas include the Furka Pass, Lake Brienz and Meiringen, the route towards Kandersteg and the Lötschberg area, or a longer day out via Gstaad towards the Pays-d’Enhaut. Whether you are planning a full alpine road trip or a gentler lake drive, The Brecon makes a natural base for discovering Switzerland by car.
